Has anyone built a guitar with Bois d'Rose back and sides? Would love to see some. ![]() ![]() |

I'm thinking about it, but haven't made one yet. I'm using Bois de Rose for the bridge and headplate on my current acoustic build. It's a pretty solid, dense wood. Very tough stuff. No idea of its acoustic properties, though. I'm hoping to try one soon too! |

I haven't tried it yet either, but Allied has some nice looking sets on their weekly sales page this week. They're pretty reasonably priced too! |

I have several sets of it (from Allied) and it is all very nice with a good rosewood tap to it. I plan on using a set of it very soon. |

Yup, I like the wood and figure look but would like to see it under a finish, comments on tone, bending, etc... |

One aspect to remember is that is darkens considerably with time, presumably due to light exposure. Here's a headstock that has a few sealer lacquer coats on it. It's about two months old now. Oh, and I've bent it for rosette rings and binding - it bends pretty well, like most of the Dalbergia rosewoods (which it is...)
